The Nigerian Government had indefinitely suspended Twitter’s operations in the country on June 5.

The suspension followed Twitter’s removal of Buhari’s ‘abusive’ civil war post, in which the president warned persons behind arson attacks on electoral offices and police stations in the South East region of a potential repeat of the 1967 Biafran Civil War.

So far, the Nigerian leader has shared 10 posts on the social media service.

In his latest post on Sunday, Buhari assured the people of the Niger Delta region that the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) would soon be inaugurated.

He said, “Based on the mismanagement that had previously bedeviled the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), a forensic audit was set up and the result is expected by the end of July, 2021.

“I want to assure the people of the Niger Delta and all Nigerians that as soon as the forensic audit report is submitted and accepted, the NDDC Board will be inaugurated.”

Meanwhile, the Federal Government on Wednesday announced that it had assembled a reconciliation team to lead negotiations with Twitter over suspension of the company’s operations.

The country’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, is expected to lead to the negotiation.
