Buhari Inaugurates 12 New Perm Secs, As Ministers Hold FEC Meeting

President Muhmmadu Buhari, on Wednesday, inaugurated 12 new Permanent Secretaries in Abuja.

He presided over the ceremonies shortly before the commencement of the 13th virtual session of the Federal Executive Council.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo also witnessed the event.

Recall that the permanent secretaries were appointed in June.

They are Belgore Shuaib Mohammad Lomido, Kwara; Akinlade Oluwatoyin, Kogi; Ekpa Anthonia Akpabio, Cross River; Alkali Bashir Nura, Kano; Ardo Babayo Kumo, Gombe and Anyanwutaku Adaora lfeoma, Anambra.

On the list too are Udoh Moniloja Omokunmi, Oyo; Hussaini Babangida, Jigawa; Mohammed Aliyu Ganda, Sokoto; Mahmuda Mamman, Yobe; Meribole Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Abia and Tarfa Yerima Peter Adamawa.

Buhari also inaugurated new commissioners for the Federal Civil Service Commission, Idahagbon Henry and Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Usman Hassan, respectively.

In line with the COVID -19 safety protocols, only minsters with memos to present to the FEC were seen arriving for the meeting on Wednesday at the State House, Abuja.

Those sighted were Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami; Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello, Water Resources, Sulieman Adamu.

The details of deliberations at the meeting will be made available later.
