The corruption scandal that rocked President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure as petroleum minister might seem a forgotten issue, but the suffering inflicted on Nigerians by the APC-led government has led a Chieftain of the PDP, Hon George Daika, to recollect the incidence.

Recall that $2.8bn allegedly got missing under Buhari’s tenure as Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources in 1977.

Dika, while speaking with journalists in Jos, on Friday, September 23, said President Buhari cannot declare himself free from corruption overnight.

While sympathizing with Nigerians over the hardship inflicted on them by the APC government, Dika noted that the President has made deliberate attempt to make Nigerians believe he is free of corruption.

The former member of the House of Representatives also alleged that the current economic crisis that the country is faced with is as a result of the “clueless and visionless” administration that Nigerians have voted into power.

The lawmaker, who represented Shendam, Mikang and Quaan-Pan federal constituency in the sixth assembly, said the incompetence of the APC government has led to “stealing of food on stoves and rise in criminality, all because of economic recession which has degenerated to depression.

“Honestly, I sympathize with Nigerians over the suffering inflicted on them by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, Dika said
