Buhari Orders Security Agencies To Go After Killer Herdsmen

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered security agencies to clampdown on the violent activities of Fulani Herdsmen across the country.

The President gave the order in his national broadcast Monday morning, following his return from London where he spent 103 days receiving medical treatment.

The WHISTLER recalls that Fulani herdsmen have in recent times, unleashed terror attacks on communities in different part of the country.

The attacks have claimed several lives, left others injured and rendered many homeless.

The President Buhari-led government have come under attack by several Nigerians, leaders and activist over its inability to come up with an articulate solution to tackle the menace.

Buhari, in his speech promised to reinforce and reinvigorate the fight not only against the Boko Haram terrorist but also against kidnappings and farmers versus herdsmen clashes.

He said, “I am charging the Security Agencies not to let the successes achieved in the last 18 months be a sign to relax.

“Terrorists and criminals must be fought and destroyed relentlessly so that the majority of us can live in peace and safety.

“Therefore we are going to reinforce and reinvigorate the fight not only against elements of Boko Haram which are attempting a new series of attacks on soft targets, kidnappings; farmers versus herdsmen clashes, in addition to ethnic violence fuelled by political mischief makers. We shall tackle them all.”
