CBN Supports Three Universities For Post Graduate Studies

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said it will intervene in the postgraduate programmes of three selected Nigerian universities; Ahmadu Bello University, University of Ibadan and University of Nigeria.   

This intervention as stated in a tweet by the financial institution follows its developmental role in the financial services industry.

According to details from the bank, the CBN Collaborative Postgraduate Programme (CBN-CPP) is aimed at producing a mass number of well-educated postgraduate degree holders in the fields of Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Economics for the financial services industry, and the Nigerian economy as a whole. 

It also aims to produce graduates that have the requisite skills for the financial sub-sector and the entire economy at the level of competence comparable to top business schools across the globe.

The CBN-CPP Centres across the participating institutions will be focused on teaching, capacity building, research, outreach, and staff development, and is housed at the CBN centres of excellence located in each of the Universities.

Recall that the Governor of the CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele had disclosed that the aim of the Bank, being a knowledge-based and visionary institution, was to build human capacity for the financial system in particular and the economy in general.
