CONFIRMED: Jim Nwobodo Defects To PDP From APC

About 24 hours after THE WHISTLER exclusively reported his planned defection to the PDP, the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo has dumped the ruling APC for the PDP on Friday.

Nwobodo’s defection from the APC is coming exactly 22 days to the 2019 presidential election.

His defection came 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari toured some south-eastern states, including his Enugu home state, to solicit support for his re-election in the February 16 poll.

A source close to the politician had informed THE WHISTLER on Thursday that, “He [Nwobodo] has consulted widely with some South East leaders and is ready to return to the party,” adding that “He never wanted to leave the PDP when he left,” in 2016.

Nwobodo, who shunned the APC South East presidential rally yesterday, announced his defection to the PDP in the presence of some party leaders at his Amaechi country home.
