Coronavirus: EU Blasts U.S. Over Travel Ban
The European Union leaders have attacked US President, Donald Trump, over the new travel ban imposed on EU countries on Wednesday.
Trump had excluded the UK from the ban which according to the US would last for 30 days.
Trump explained that the EU had failed to take travel precaution to China, consequently, the EU travelers had spread the disease in the US.
In a joint statement released on Thursday by the EU, the leaders condemned the decision of the Trump administration, as they said it was “taken unilaterally and without due consultation.”
The EU President, Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President, Charles Michel said in the statement that the coronavirus was a global threat and not limited to any continent, adding that it requires cooperation and not a unilateral decision.
