Court Grants Senator Nwaoboshi Bail

The Lagos State division of the Federal High Court has granted the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Peter Nwaoboshi bail on self-recognition.

Recall that the senator of the Peoples Democratic Party was arraigned on Wednesday by the EFCC on two counts of money laundering to the tune of N322m and conspiracy before Justice Mohammed Idris.

He pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Justice Idris, in his verdict, instructed the senator to get two sureties who will each sign a bail bond of N50m within 72 hours.

Nwaoboshi was also asked to deposit his passport in the custody of the court, as he was not allowed to travel out of the country without the court’s permission until the end of the case.

The case was adjourned until June 13 and 20, 2018 for the commencement of trial.
