A Prison source who pleaded anonymity said the former governor and his sons left the detention facilities Monday morning.

It was gathered that hundreds of supporters that had surrounded the detention facility had disappeared as Prison warders informed those who had turned up for visit that Mr Lamido has been taken to Abuja.

You will recall that on July 9th, a Federal High Court sitting in Kano State, Nigeria’s Northwest region, ordered Lamido and his two sons to be remanded in Kano prison custody till September 28, for allegedly receiving a sum of N1.35 billion kickback from a government contractor.
