Donald Trump Tests For Coronavirus

The United States President, Donald Trump, said on Saturday, that he had undergone tests for Coronavirus, adding that the result would be out in a matter of days.

He made the disclosure at a press conference at the White House, Washington DC.

He said he took the step because of the pressure from people and the press, over his close contact with Brazilian officials some days ago.

“I also took the test last night, and I decided I should based on the press conference yesterday. People were asking,” Trump said.

“They sent it to a lab,” he also added that the results would take “day or two” to come out.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had said that people who come into “close contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19” or have experienced “potential exposure through attendance at events or spending time in specific settings where COVID-19 cases have been reported, “should be tested.

Furthermore, the White House has added the United Kingdom and Ireland in its travel ban, following the record of the Coronavirus outbreak in Europe.

The United States had initially placed travel restrictions on Europe.

But the Vice President, Mike Pence said at the conference, that Americans in the U.K. or Ireland can come home.

“Legal residents can come home,” he added.
