Ebonyi Governor Not Arming Killers, Says PDP Planning ‘To Incite Public Hatred’

The Ebonyi State government has reacted to allegation that Governor Dave Umahi has fueled the crises in the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Orji Uchenna Orji, has described a statement by the National Assembly Caucus of PDP lawmakers from Ebonyi State as “a continuation of the series of media plans by the Peoples Democratic Party elements in the state to continue to spread falsehood and incite public hatred on a government that has performed extra-ordinarily in Ebonyi state, whose clear tract record of integrity and people oriented governance are been celebrated across the country.”

Orji in an interview described the PDP as a party which has no base in Ebonyi state, and has resorted to inciting the public against a performing governor, even as he said that “all the allegations are totally fallacious, unfounded and mendacious.”

He said, “we have challenged them severally to come up with evidence of their claims. Let it be known to them that our governor has proved to them that a Leader can be selfless, that a leader can be people oriented.

“They must be assured that the people are with the governor and waiting for them in 2023.

” We can assure them that they cannot succeed in getting the mandate of the people in 2023 because this is essentially their mission for fighting against a performing governor.”
