Edo 2024: APC Presents Okpebholo, Idahosa To Tinubu As Governorship Candidates

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Dennis Idahosa as its deputy governorship candidate for the September 21, 2024 Edo election.

The decision was confirmed by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, who formally presented the party’s flag bearer, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Idahosa, to President Bola Tinubu at the Villa in Abuja on Monday (today).

Idahosa’s nomination comes after the recent announcement by the governorship candidate, Senator Okpebholo, replacing Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama as his running mate.

Following a meeting with the party’s leadership, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and stakeholders from Edo State, Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives, emerged as the chosen candidate on Sunday.

Present at the meeting were the party flag bearer Senator Okpebholo, former Edo Governor Senator Adams Oshiomole, and Idahosa.

In the party’s primary election concluded on February 22, Idahosa lost the ticket to Okpebholo.
