The Special Fraud Unit of Nigeria Police had charged him and three others before the court over allegation of forgery.

But when the case came up on Monday, the police announced withdrawal of the charge against him and others.

The Prosecutor, Mr. Henri Obasi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), told the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Kikelomo Ayeye, that he received directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to withdraw the charge against Ogah and others.

It was brought in pursuant to section 73(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

“I am instructed by the IGP to withdraw this case, as the issue is pending with the SFU,” Obiazi said.

A source from the EFCC noted that the agency had received a petition against Ogah, which necessitated his arrest.

In the suit Ogah and some other persons who are still at large, were alleged to have forged the signature of one Mrs. Bridget Adeosun for a Memorandum of Understanding between Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited and Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited sometime in March 2011
