Ekiti PDP Primary: Olujimi Steps Down For Adeyeye
Senator Abiodun Olujimi, an aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party ((PDP) governorship primary election in Ekiti state, has stepped down for a fellow contestant, Dayo Adeyeye.
Olujimi made the announcement shortly before the commencement of voting at Eagle Hall, Ado Ekiti, venue of the primary election.
“For the benefit of our party, I offer myself and I transfer my structure to Prince Adeyeye,” she said.
Following the development, the primary election is now a two-horse race between Adeyeye and Kolapo Olusola, deputy governor of the state.
Olusola is said to be the front-runner in the race to capture the party’s ticket in the July 14 election as he is the preferred aspirant of Ayodele Fayose, the incumbent governor.
A total of 1,966 delegates were accredited for the exercise. Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state, is the chairman of the electoral committee.
