English Premier League Clubs To Start Training in Small Groups

The English Premier League clubs have voted to start club trainings in small groups in preparation for possible return to games next month.

It was confirmed in a statement my the Premiere League that clubs agreed unanimously in a vote to start training in small groups from Tuesday.

“Premier League shareholders today voted unanimously to return to small-group training from tomorrow afternoon, the first step towards restarting the Premier League, when safe to do so.

“Consultation with players, managers, Premier League club doctors, independent experts and the government.

“Strict medical protocols of the highest standard will ensure everyone returns to training in the safest environment possible.

“The health and wellbeing of all participants is the Premier League’s priority, and the safe return to training is a step-by-step process.

“Full consultation will now continue with players, managers, clubs, the PFA and LMA as protocols for full-contact training are developed.”

Recall that Premier League games were put on hold since March 9 due the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The French Ligue 1 and the Dutch Eredivisie have all ended there seasons so far as precautionary measures towards the dreaded pandemic.

But the German Bundesliga restarted the season last weekend with empty stadiums and strict preventive measures in place.
