Ex-Eagles Player Appointed Into NFF Committee After Threatening To Expose Corruption In Football House

The apex football body in Nigeria, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), released the names of it’s sub-committees that include standing committees and ad-hoc committees on Monday.

The list has the names of former Super Eagles stars Taribo West, Tijjani Babangida, Julius Aghaghowa, Sam Sodje amongst others.

The appointment is coming just hours after Taribo West threatened to embark on protest against alleged widespread corruption in the NFF.

The former defender was quoted in the Punch saying that just like the #Endsars protest, he will carry out his own protest to sanitize the football federation.

“We are going to protest against those that have hijacked our football system

“Everything happening #EndSARS in the Nigerian system must also affect the football house. People with integrity must run the football house because money that has been siphoned, embezzled & mismanaged can’t be quantified.

“Work of God is in my spirit, but football is in my blood. I’ll lead a protest against the mismanagement of funds in Nigerian football.”

It believed that the appointment was to keep him quite from embarking on the protest.
