FA Cup: United Thump Tranmere, Cruise Into Fifth Round

Manchester United cruised into the FA Cup fifth round after a flawless 6-0 victory over League One Tranmere in the FA Cup.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported the “get Ole out of United” campaign to dismiss United embattled manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after two consecutive 2-0 loss to Liverpool and more recently Burnley in the English Premier League.

United gave Solskjaer a much-needed win with a 6-0 demolition of Tranmere on Sunday to reach the FA Cup fifth round.

Tranmere made an impressive start, however United showed a pool of experience as they found the back of the net three times in six minutes to put the team close to the next stage just early in the first half period.

Tranmere’s Morgan Ferrier caused trouble with his threatening runs and got Fouled by Phil Jones after just four minutes, but Harry Maguire’s tenth minute goal turned the flow of the game, as Diogo Dalot and Jesse Lingard scored in the 13th and 16th minute respectively to to shock the opponent.

Jones and Anthony Martial made it five before the break, as Mason Greenwood wrapped the game up 56 minutes into the second half with a penalty to put them through to the fifth round.

United’s brilliant performance marked the first time United had scored six goals in a match since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge of the 8-2 victory over Arsenal back in 2011.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the board of the Red Devils are strictly behind Solskjaer, despite pressure from fans to sack the manager.
