Fayose Is A Political Jobber – Olujimi

The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District at the Senate,
Senator Abiodun Olujimi, has accused former Governor Ayo Fayose of frustrating the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde to resolve the crisis rocking Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.

She advised the governor, who she described as the leader of the PDP in the zone, to ignore Fayose’s threat.

Olujimi, a one time deputy to Fayose during his first term in office, has been at loggerheads with her former boss, the ex-governor, over the control of the party in the state.

Fayose had on Wednesday warned Makinde not to interfere in Ekiti politics, saying he would confront the governor if he refused to heed the warning.

But Olujimi while speaking in Ado Ekiti on Thursday at the meeting of her faction of the PDP, urged Makinde to ignore the threat.

Olujimi said, “I urge Governor Seyi Makinde to continue in his efforts to reposition, galvanise and salvage the party from the brinks of collapse.

“Makinde is the symbol of the party in the South-West. So, anything that must come from the zone must come through him, he is the leader of the party in the South-West.

“Fayose and his conspirators’ visit to Uche Secondus was nothing but a recreational one. I can take anybody to the National Secretariat of the party and we take photogtaphs.

“ We stand by Makinde because nobody can rubbish him and wish him away. This is the best time South-West Zone needs the governor most when ‘hijackers’ are trying to undermine the party’s structure through egregious conspiracy.”

She said any effort to thwart the moves to end the crisis within the PDP on Ekiti State would fail.
