THE WHISTLER reported that Jon Kent, who was lately selected to act as new Superman, will have a romantic affair with his gay partner, Jay Nakamura, in a new comic series to be released on November 9.

The development has been criticized by a number of Nigerians.

The company had said in a statement on Monday that the latest fictional orientation of Kent “takes a bold new direction”.

But Cain, while speaking to Fox News, said DC was rather trying to please the LGBT movement.

“They said it’s a bold new direction. I say they’re bandwagoning,” Cain said.

He said the idea of a movie superhero is to save people from danger or evil.

“There’s real evil in this world today, real corruption and government overreach… It’d be great to tackle those issues. I’d like to see the character doing that.

“I don’t think it’s bold or brave or some crazy new direction. If they had done this 20 years ago, perhaps that would be bold or brave. But brave would be having him fight for the rights of gay people in Iran where they’ll throw you off a building for the offense of being gay,” he added.
