LGBT: Nigerians React As Writer Transforms Superman To Gay Character

Popular movie character, Superman (Jon Kent) will have a romantic affair with his gay partner, Jay Nakamura, in a new comic series to be released on November 9.

This revelation sparked reactions from Nigerians on Tuesday.

But Tom Taylor, the comic writer behind the story says the “symbol represents something more” and that “more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”

The title of the new comic series is Superman: Son of Kal-El #5k, and it is owned by the American comic book publisher, DC Comics, Inc.

The company said in a statement on Monday that the latest fictional orientation of Kent “takes a bold new direction”.

But reacting to the development, a number of Nigerians decried the latest revelations.
