Full Text Of President Buhari’s Eid-El-Kabir Message To Nigerians

As usual, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday felicitated with Nigerians to mark this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

Mr Buhari, who is currently in his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, reassured Nigerians of his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises.

The President thanked all Nigerians who prayed for his recovery while he was away in the United Kingdom on medical vacation, and those who “have continued to extend their goodwill and support since my return”.

He further urged Nigerians to see themselves as brothers and sisters from one heritage, adding that his administration will not rest until “we see the Nigeria of our dream”.

The statement reads: “I felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, on the celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.

“I also congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters who are currently in Saudi Arabia to participate in the rites of the Hajj.

“Let me again thank all Nigerians who prayed for my recovery and have continued to extend their goodwill and support since my return.

“Your prayers and support have energised me to re-dedicate myself and this administration to the task of building a great Nigeria.

“On this occasion, I appeal to all to keep our prejudices aside and strengthen the bonds of friendship & unity, to keep Nigeria together.

“We must learn to see ourselves as brothers and sisters from the same heritage. And on our part as a Government, we will not let you down.

“This Eid-El-Kabir celebration is an opportunity for us all to rededicate ourselves to the exemplary virtues shown by Prophet Ibrahim.

“Once again let me assure that this administration will not rest on its oars until we see the Nigeria of our dream.

“I wish everyone happy Sallah celebrations. And may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
