Governor Obaseki Opens Defense In Alleged Certificate Forgery Case

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, opened his defense on Tuesday in an alleged certificate forgery case instituted against him at a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

He was sued by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one Mr Williams Edobor.

Recall that the governor had decamped from APC due to a rift with the then party leadership.

He eventually got re-elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

During the court proceeding which was presided by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, Obaseki’s counsel presented witness to defend the validity of his client’s certificate.

Channels Television reports that the governor produced his first School Leaving Certificate(1971), Ordinary Level Certificate (1973), and Higher School Certificate (1976).

These, among others were admitted in evidence by the court.
