President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, travelled on an official visit to the Peoples’ Republic of China, leaving behind an unsigned 2016 Appropriation Bill.
A statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said that the President, who will be away from the country for one week, is due back in the country at the weekend.
This implies that the budget may not be signed this week, except if he decides to sign it outside the country, a case that is very unlikely.

Recall that the National Assembly had passed the N6.06tn budget on March 23, which was forwarded to the Presidency within 24 hours.
However, Buhari declined to sign the bill, insisting on seeing and reviewing the details ministry-by-ministry before appending his signature.
The details, which was thereafter transmitted to the president, on Thursday, by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari, was however declined again as Buhari did not like some of the changes which the lawmakers made to it, with regards to the removal of funds meant for major national projects.
It was learnt that Buhari asked the National Assembly to take back the budget and add the important projects which they allegedly removed.
