Ikpeazu Reveals 2 Main Factors That Foster National Development

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has identified “peace” and “unity” as the two main factors that precede national development in any given geographic location or country.

According to Ipkeazu, any country that desires a sustained national development must be ready and willing to allow peace and unity to reign.

The Abia Governor said this on Friday while receiving members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Aba Depot, at the Governor’s Lodge in Aba, the commercial center of the state.

“There is reason for every citizen to reflect on the essence of their existence in their environment, and the contributions that can make the nation a better place.

“If you are not mindful of the environment and don’t contribute to its socio-economic growth, everyone will be affected when things go bad,’’ said Ikpeazu.

The Abia Governor told his guests that the Ekeakpara-Owerrinta road would commence on July 12, adding that the project is expected to alleviate the suffering of road users who ply the city’s routes.

The governor expressed optimism that the road construction would boost business activities and foster economic development in the area.

He noted that the road was strategic to economic development in the area considering that it led to the Aba Depot of NNPC.

The Chairman of IPMAN in Aba Depot, Mr Bobby Eberechi-Dick, who led his team to the governor, had earlier appealed to the governor to speed up action on the damaged Ekeakpara-Owerrinta road.

“We have been experiencing some challenges with the pipeline in Aba and for the past two, AGO and DPK have not been received in Aba Depot,’’ Eberechi-Dick said.

Ikpeazu had informed Eberechi-Dick that his administration decided to restrategize on its funding plan to ensure road projects move quickly in the state.
