‘I’ll Remain In The Senate Till I Die,’ Declares Three-Time Governor

Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a former three-time governor of Yobe State, has declared he will remain in the Senate until his very last breath.

“We are very grateful to God and to all Nigerians. Let me categorically say, Mr. Senate President, that I will stay in the Senate until death do us part,” Ibrahim said during the debate regarding Nigeria’s 57th anniversary.

“Everybody tells me that I’m Senator for life. I’m going to be in the Senate for life,” he said.

Senator Ibrahim, who is the lawmaker representing Yobe East under the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly made the declaration during a plenary session of the upper legislative chamber.

Prior to becoming a Senator in 2007, the lawmaker was elected governor of Yobe in December 1991 under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

He was again elected governor in 1999, after Nigeria transitioned from military to civilian rule in late 1998.

Ibrahim was again re-elected governor in 2003 for a second four-year term.

Just in July this year, the 68-year-old was involved in a scandalous video where he was seen dressing up before two women in a hotel room, supposedly after engaging in sexual intercourse with them.
