Imo Ward Disowns Kinsman For Challenging State PDP Congress In Court

The Peoples Democratic Party’s stakeholders from the Owerri-Ebeiri ward in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, Wednesday, disowned their kinsman, one Chief Alloy Igwe, for challenging the outcome of the recent state PDP congress in court. The stakeholders from the ward made their position known when they paid a courtesy visit to the state chairman of the party, Engr Charles Ugwu, in Owerri.

THE WHISTLER recalls that Chief Igwe, a former zonal chairman of the PDP in Orlu zone, and a native of Owerri-Ebeiri, recently dragged the PDP, Imo State, to court, claiming that the process of the congress did not follow the due process.

The stakeholders, who also visited the state PDP youth leader, Greg Nwadike, reaffirmed their support for the party. Led by a board member of the party, Hon Nnamdi Cus-Ukwuoma, and the former youth leader of the PDP in Orlu LGA, Hon Sir Chidiuto Okorie, the stakeholders expressed disappointment that ‘one of our own actually took the party to court; he is however on his own and does not represent the interest of the ward’.

The state chairman of the party, represented by his deputy, Sir Martin Ejiogu, while receiving their solidarity letter, called on the aggrieved members of the party to explore all internal mechanisms as spelt out in the constitution of the party while seeking justice instead of taking the party to court.

Sir Ejiogu said, “We assure you of the continued support of the party even as the ward has already expressed appreciations for all appointments it received through the party. The PDP is more than ready and properly positioned to withstand any court case against it from ungrateful elements.”
