INEC Meets Again, May Lift Suspension On Campaigns

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may lift the embargo it placed on campaigns after it postponed last weekend’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Commission will be holding a meeting by 10 am on Monday, where its decision to lift the suspension will be considered.

Oyekanmi made this known when he appeared on Channels Television`s SUNRISE DAILY on Monday morning.

Nigeria’s general elections was rescheduled by INEC due to logistical challenges, according to Chairman of the electoral body, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
