Investigation Begins Into Crashed Helicopter As LASEMA Reveals Owner

Investigation has begun to know the cause of the helicopter crash at Opebi area in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

The helicopter crashed into a residential building at Salvation Army at about noon on Friday and our correspondent gathered that some officials from the aviation industry are already at the site.

The Lagos State Emergency Agency also confirmed that Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria officials and other related agencies as well as rescuers were already at the crash site.

The Director General of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who said this in a tweet also revealed that the
Bell Helicopter 206B3 belongs to Quorum Aviation Ltd.

The tweets read, ” On the arrival of the agency’s combined Response Team, led by its DG/CEO, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu at the scene, it was observed that there was an helicopter crash.

“Further investigation gathered revealed that a Bell Helicopter 206B3 belonging to Quorum Aviation Ltd crashed at 12 pm.

“However, an adult male was rescued and taken to LASUTH for further treatment. While two adult males were confirmed dead.

“The DG/CEO LASEMA alongside it’s Response Team, RRS, LASAMBUS,
LASG Fire Service, Commisioner of Police, FAAN, FRSC and LASTMA are all on ground. Recovery operation ongoing”
