South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has advised re-elected President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, to do his best in advancing the course of the African continent.
Ramaphosa also congratulated Adesina for winning a second term in office.
He stressed that it was due to his visionary leadership of the bank.
His tweet on Friday reads:
“Congratulations to my brother Dr. @Akin_Adesina on his well deserved re-election as President of @AfDB_Group.
“Your contribution in growing the bank is self-evident.
“Wishing you another successful term of even greater commitment to realising our shared vision for #TheAfricaWeWant,” he tweeted.
TheAfricaWeWant is a concept based on promoting good governance , rule of law and respect for the rights of Africans.
Adesina was re-elected on Thursday at the bank’s virtual Annual General Meeting.
He is to lead the bank for another five years.
