Iwobi’s Strike Takes Nigeria To Russia 2018 World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 1-0 victory over Zambia at the Nest of Champions Stadium, Uyo.

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi scored the only goal of the game in the second half as the Nigerian side qualify for a record sixth FIFA World Cup appearance.

Nigeria becomes the first African nation to book a spot in Russia.

Gernot Rohr’s men top Group B with 13 points, six points ahead of second placed Zambia. The Eagles will travel to Algeria in November for the last round of fixtures before turning their attention to the big tournament next year.
