The protest has been peaceful and despite coming across armed security agents there was no attack.

Some of those who were at the front of the procession made sure that they did not allow commercial motorcyclists to join them.
They told them that anybody who wanted to join must park their vehicles and join them on foot.

One of the protesters, Tayo Ogunwale, told our correspondent that Nigerians had never suffered this way since he was born.

Ogunwale said, ” They cannot stop us from expressing our minds. The country is upside down and the President keeps giving excuses.

” Despite his collosal failure which is obvious to even his supporters, he has never accepted that he has failed us.

” He spent the first four years to blame the PDP, most of those in PDP are also to be blamed anyway but Buhari was voted massively but see what he has done to us. There is killing everyday and Nigeria is at the verge of disintegration but he still believes he has done well.”

Another protester who identified herself as Aisat , an unemployed graduate, said she learnt how to bake cake and sew when she could not get a paid job.

She said, ” I make some sales using Twitter and he woke up one day and banned it. What type of leader is that? He has failed and should go. There is serious hunger in Nigeria and the insecurity is indescribable. May God save us from this disaster.”
