JUST IN: Buhari Chairs APC National Caucus Meeting (PHOTOS)

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently chairing the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus Meeting at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting which is in preparation for the APC National Convention, comes a day ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, slated for Tuesday in Abuja.

In attendance are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, APC National Chairman John Odigie Oyegun, Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, APC National Leader, and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Others in attendance are, Governors elected on APC platform, members of party’s Board of Trustee and National Working Committee (NWC).

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the meeting will also discuss national issues, the crisis within the party and take a decision on when its National Convention would hold.

The national convention usually provides an avenue for the party to ratify its policies and programmes; elect or remove members of its NWC and amend its constitution if need be among other things.

The APC, which has not held a convention since 2014, is currently embroiled in series of conflicts amongst party members.

President Muhammadu Buhari had days back appointed National Leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.
