JUST IN: Police IG Orders Nationwide Dismantling Of Roadblocks

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has directed that all roadblocks across the country be removed with immediate effect.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Force PRO, Jimoh Moshood, late Monday.

According to Moshood, the directive is in line with Federal Government’s effort to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

“To this end, no police department, section, squad or unit should mount road block without express permission of the Inspector-General of Police,” the Force PRO stated.

He said the IGP laid emphasis on the Lagos-Ibadan, Sagamu-Benin, and Benin-Onitsha highways.

Others are the Okene-Abuja, Kaduna-Kano, Katsina – Kano, Otukpo – Enugu, Enugu – Port Harcourt Expressways.
