Kidnappers Demand N5 million To Release SSANU DELSU Chairman Monday Izu

Two days after his abduction, a ransom ofN5 million was demanded for the release of the chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Delta State University, Abraka Branch, Monday Izu.

The chairman was said to have been kidnapped on Thursday evening along the Eku – Abraka road in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The abductors reportedly established contact with his family members on Saturday, through the mobile phone of the chairman, negotiating for his release.

The sum of N200 million was earlier demanded but reduced to N5 million after much bargaining, Tribune Online reports.

THE WHISTLER had contacted the State Police Spokesperson, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the development.

“Yes, the kidnappers demanded N5 million ransom, and we are on it,” she said.
