Kodak Black Allegedly Beaten By Prison Guards

Kodak Black was  allegedly beaten by multiple prison guards while handcuffed, according to a message posted on his Instagram account.

The 22-year-old  American rapper who legally changed his name to Bill Kapri, is currently serving out a three-year sentence at Kentucky’s Big Sandy penitentiary.

According to the Instagram post, Kodak has been barred from making phone calls or receiving visitors for six months, as punishment for getting in a fight while housed in a Miami facility. Fellow inmates at Big Sandy informed Kodak’s team of an apparent prison assault, which occurred last Friday (May 1).

“We just heard from fellow inmates at Max. Penitentiary Big Sandy KY,” reads the Instagram post. “In regards to @kodakblack treatment. He couldn’t call himself as he is not allowed phone or visitation for 6 months as punishment for the incident in Miami, even though that has been the case since September, they refuse to give him credit for that time.

“Friday night he was badly beaten while in cuffs, by 7 guards at Big Sandy. They struck him in the head repeatedly with a metal object. Then after one of the guards flicked his genitals and said ‘you’re not so gangster now, you’re gonna need bigger balls to survive.’”

Vibe.com reports that Kodak’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, will be requesting a “full investigation” by the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI.

In addition to contacting the Justice Department for an immediate “3rd party” investigation, Cohen wants Big Sandy to “preserve all video and conduct a full investigation.”

“There are recordings of the witnesses that called and stated what happened to Bill. A 22 year old man serving [approximately] 2 years more for a non violent [crime] is in a max pen. 1100 miles from his family and lawyers. This is true injustice,” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “Not to mention when he was under the influence of an unknown substance during the incident in Miami 2 weeks before his sentencing on the paperwork case.”

This isn’t the first time that Kodak has alleged abuse behind bars. The “ZeZe” rhymer was abruptly transferred to Kentucky in January after his family held a press conference alleging that he was being mistreated at a Miami facility where he was involved in a fight that left a prison guard hospitalized after Kodak allegedly grabbed him by the genitalia.

In January, Kodak’s family announced that they were suing the Bureau of Prisons over the alleged.
