The Kano State commissioner for rural development, Alhaji Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has described the Supreme Court victory of the incumbent governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as victory for the people.

Kwankwaso while speaking to journalists in Abuja said the apex court’s judgment had equally and finally “nailed  the Kwankwasiyya political coffin” in Kano.

His words ” You know I have advised the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) and its governorship candidate Alhaji Abba Kabir Yuduf not to approach the court, because the party had no tangible evidences to contest the victory of Ganduje, but it was a pity they ignored my good advise and now what happened?

“The money they could have used to sustain themselves and their already dead party has been wasted in fighting a battle they had lost  at the poll

“Unknown to them,  right from their commencement of mission impossible, Ganduje remained undisturbed and continued to execute laudable projects with the assurance that the PDP was fighting a lost battle.”
The commissioner further commended the people of Kano for their unflinching support and prayers for Ganduje,  urging them not to relent in their efforts in rallying round the Ganduje administration to execute  more people-friendly projects

In his reaction, the state’s commissioner of information and culture, Malam Muhammad Garba, attributed Ganduje’s victory to the will of God and the desire of the people.

His words, “we are most grateful to the Almighty God for this victory. This is not the victory for Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje alone, it is a victory for the good people of Kano state.

“We call on the PDP to maintain peace and accept this verdict in good faith. This is the real confirmation of our journey to The Next Level ”
