Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru Still COAS On Army Website

The late Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru is still alive on the website of the Nigerian Army.

Attahiru died along with 10 other military officers in a helicopter crash near the Kaduna airport on May 21 and was buried at the Military Cemetary in Abuja on May 22.

But President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of a new COA,  Major General Farouk Yahaya on Thursday,

The Nigerian Army also announced the appointment of Yahaya as the new  COAS on Thursday, but the picture of Attahiru is still boldly displayed on the home page of the army website on Thursday as the COAS.

Interestingly, a statement announcing the appointment of a new COAS was on the website when THE WHISTLER visited on Thursday and saw that of Attahiru appearing even bolder.
