Recall that Ndume had accepted to stand as Maina’s surety in the money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that the Court had on November 23, ordered the remand of Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South), for breaching bail terms regarding the embattled former chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Maina, who is facing money laundering charges, has been absent from some of the court proceedings after he was granted bail.

Justice Abang had stressed that the Senator would remain in detention until Maina shows up in court.

He also gave the option of selling off his property in Abuja which was used to secure Maina’s release.

Meanwhile, Ndume’s lawyer argued that since his client’s 500 million naira bail bond( which includes sale of his property) has been entered, it would not be fair for him to stiil be remanded.
