Mathew Seiyefa: Meet Daura’s Likely Replacement As DSS DG

The unforeseen sack of Lawal Daura as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday may usher in a new leader for the agency in the person of Mathew Seiyefa.

Seiyefa, who is the most senior Director in the DSS, otherwise known as the State Security Service (SSS), has been tipped as the successor of Mr Daura.

Bayelsa-born Seiyefa reportedly arrived the Aso Rock Presidential Villa at about 4:00 p.m today to meet with Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, who had approved the sack of the erstwhile DSS DG.

Professor Osinbajo is reportedly meeting the prospective DSS Director-General alongside the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.

Seiyefa is currently the Director of Operations of the DSS.
