Former Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, has called on the Edo State Government to immortalize late former governor of defunct Midwest region- now Edo and Delta states, Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, by naming the Government House after him.

Onaiwu, who was a Special Assistant to the deceased in 1983, extolled the leadership virtue of the two-time governor, noting that his achievement and legacies during his administration emanated from the seat of power.

“It would not be out of place if the Government House in Benin City, is named after Samuel Ogbemudia. He remains an icon, whose legacies remain unequalled,” Onaiwu said in a statement.

The APGA flagbearer in the 2016 Edo State Governorship election, urged members of the Ogbemudia family and Edo people to continue to celebrate him as he served the state, Nigeria and humanity selflessly.

The late Ogbemudia died on Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Lagos at the age of 84.
