‘NASS Invasion, An Attempt To Impeach Saraki, Make Akpabio Senate President’

The invasion of the National Assembly by operatives of the Department of Security Services, DSS is an attempt to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki and install Senator Godswill Akpabio.

That was the statement made by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker representing Bayelsa East, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

According to him, the invasion was to intimidate the PDP lawmakers as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senators planned on impeaching Saraki.

“The front gate has been blocked by DSS and police. The plan is to allow APC senators entry. Senators who will install Akpabio as the Senate President and impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu,” Murray Bruce said.

He said the plot will not stand as the PDP has majority members. “It can’t stand. They do not have the numbers. I have been in touch with Britain, Canada, and requested from the management that the visa of Akpabio and all the other senators involved in this be revoked.

“So that their request to go to London, Washington, Paris, Berlin will be revoked.

“What they are doing is illegal. What they are doing is against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This makes no sense,” he said.

Recall that earlier today, Akpabio, the lawmaker representing Akwa Ibom North West, resigned his position as the Minority Leader of the Senate.
