Newly Inaugurated Ministers Finally Get Portfolios

The newly inaugurated ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have finally gotten portfolios.

This is coming barely three weeks after Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo inaugurated them during weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, and over two months after the Senate’s confirmation.

Mr. Stephen Ocheni is now the Minister of State For Labour while Mr. Suleiman Hassan is now the second minister of state in the Ministry Of Power, Works and Housing.

Mr. Ocheni hails from Kogi State and replaces the late Mr. James Ocholi who died in a car crash last year.

Mr. Hassan, who is from Gombe State, takes the place of Amina Mohammed who was the Minister of the Environment and is now serving as deputy secretary general of the United Nations.

The Acting President has also sworn in 15 permanent secretaries in the federal civil service.
