NIDCOM Says Prof Egbu’s Appointment By UK Varsity Evidence Nigerians Excel Abroad

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), has lauded the appointment of Professor Charles Egbu as Vice Chancellor, by the management of the Leeds Trinity University, East London, UK.

NIDCOM stressed that it has further affirmed the excellent spirit of Nigerians, wherever they are found.

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM,Abike Dabiri-Erewa disclosed this in a statement on Thursday issued by by Gabriel Odu NIDCOM’ s PRO.

“Your appointment is a further testimony of the resilience, determination and dedication of Nigerians to excel in their chosen careers anywhere in the world.”

Dabiri-Erewa further urged Prof. Charles to make the country proud, using his new platform to positively transform the educational sector.

” You will bring with you, your wealth of experience and broad knowledge of higher education sector to the University and to the benefits of humanity,” Erewa stated.

NIDCOM further noted that “Professor Charles Egbu is the first black person to achieve this historic feat as Vice Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University, East London, United Kingdom.”

Egbu, who hails from Anambra state, has been a major voice in tertiary-level education in parts of Europe, with so many publications to his credit.

His new appointment takes effect from November 1, the UK varsity’s statement revealed.

“The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and the good people of Nigeria are proud of your achievements”, Dabiri-Erewa said.
