Nigerians Mock Super Eagles Over 1:0 Defeat To CAR

The Super Eagles were shocked by the Central African Republic in the last minute of their clash at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The visitors go by the nickname Les Fauves which is translated as Wild Beasts.

The encounter is their third group game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where they Eagles lost in the 91st minute of the encounter.

The match which ended goalless in the first half turned in the favour of the visitors during the additional time.

The game changer came as CAR’s Kal Namnganda dribbled his way past the central defence pairing of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun to score the only goal of the encounter.

The unexpected defeat has generated backlash on the home team which lost before their fans.

Fans never saw the defeat coming particularly because the Eagles never met CAR in an official game.

The Wild Beasts drew two and lost six of their last four games including a 7-0 loss to Rwanda.

Thursday’s defeat ends Super Eagles unbeaten run.
