NPF Condemns ‘Policeman’ Smoking Shisha In Viral Video, Begins Investigation

The Nigeria Police Force on Sunday condemned the action of a man in police uniform caught smoking shisha in a viral video and said the force will begin enquires to establish the authenticity of the video.

The force, in a statement signed by its Public Relation Officer, DSP Frank Mba, said
Investigations would also be carried out to unveil the identity of the alleged police personnel.

Earlier this week, a middle-aged man in Nigerian Police uniform was caught on camera smoking shisha in an undisclosed location.

Eyewitnesses who captured the event mocked him as they expressed how inexperienced he was at handling the object.

However, the police reacted saying enquires were ongoing to find out whether he is, in fact, a policeman, an impostor or an actor in a movie scene.

“However, while not being prejudicial to the ongoing investigations, it is necessary to state that the character exhibited by the man in the uniform is not a true reflection of who we are as a regimented law enforcement agency – our training, discipline, norms and tradition.

“Meanwhile, members of the public with useful information that can assist police investigations are enjoined to provide same via the following; [email protected], or DM on our social media platforms,” the police said
