NYSC: Kano Loses 2 Corps Members, 5 To Repeat Service

The Kano State Coordinator ,National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed, has disclosed that the NYSC ,Kano State chapter lost two corps members, while five are to repeat service year.

Some of the corps members who spoke to journalists said they were not happy when they first arrived Kano, but later realised that the state was accommodating while transportation and food are cheap in the state

A total of 2,155 members participated in the Passing Out Parade (POP) of Batch “A” 2020.

This include 1,296 males and 869 females.

Hajiya Mohammed ,who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday during the Passing Out Parade of Batch “A” held at the Federal Government Secretariat, Kano, however added that the two corps members that lost their lives died at their parent homes.

According to the Coordinator, “the two corps members were relocated from where they were posted to ,after got sick ,but eventually they died at their home where they were receiving treatment. “

She disclosed that 16 corps members would go on an extension of service ,while five of them would repeat their service year .

Hajiya Mohammed further disclosed that” “many corps members gave birth during their service year and we thank Almighty Allah for helping them to delivered safely. “

She however urged the outgoing corps members not to wait until they secure white collar job, but should make use of the skills acquired during their training at the camp to establish themselves.

” I urged them to shun any act capable of denting their image and that of their parents ,because there is no short course to success , but to have faith in God ,be prayerful and focus on positive endeavour, ” she stated.

According to most of the corpers, their stay in Kano was enjoyable.
“We were not happy at the initial moment we were posted to serve in the state,but after some times ,we discovered Kano was good and we do not want to go back to our state in the southern part of the country, “said one of the corpers.

Another one said, “serving in Kano State was very interesting and unique, the food is cheap ,the transportation was also cheap and everything necessary for human beings were very cheap. I will encourage any corps members i come across to come and serve in Kano state.”
