Obiora Assumes Duty As Deputy Governor Of CBN

Kingsley Isitua Obiora, on Monday, resumed as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Governor of the apex bank Godwin Emefiele, congratulated him and noted that his experience was needed to ensure stability in the Nigerian economy.

The CBN governor also said that the youthfulness of Obiora and some new directors of the bank is a deliberate measure to bring onboard their energy for positive use for the good of Nigerians.

Obiora was assigned to the Economic Policy Directorate with a charge to go beyond upholding the interest of the CBN to upholding the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.

While urging all present to work together to enable the bank achieve its objectives, Emefiele charged them to strive to etch their names on the honours roll of the bank as having contributed their quota to the overall development of the country.

Obiora was nominated deputy governor of the bank on Thursday, January 16, 2020, by President Muhammadu Buhari and was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday to replace Okwu Joseph Nnanna.
