One Dies, Four Sustain Injuries In Anambra Auto-Crash

A male child was Wednesday killed by a driver of a Toyota Sienna Space Wagon with registration number LSR 748 GN along Ihiala road, opposite Starch Mill, in Anambra State. The child met his death when he was crossing the road.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the driver could not control his speed, and knocked the child down. The victim was taken to God’s Favour Specialist Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

In another development, eighteen persons were, Wednesday, involved in a road accident which occurred at Nise, near Osita Filling Station, in Anambra State.

The two drivers were identified as one Mr Chidiebere, who was driving a Toyota commercial bus with registration number ENU710YY, and Mr Omenkodinma Ifeanyi, driving a Toyota Highlander jeep. It was gathered that the crash was due to brake failure by one of the drivers.

According to an eye witness, five persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident. Four among them were taken to an undisclosed hospital by some good Samaritans while the driver of the Highlander was taken to Shepherd Hospital, Nise, for medical attention.

The sector commander of the FRSC, Anambra State, Mr Andrew A Kumapayi, in a reaction, warned motorists against over-speeding, and further advised them to put their vehicles in order to prevent road crashes.
