Osinbajo Visits Rivers Thursday

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will visit Rivers State on Thursday, July 27, 2017, the Presidency has said.

The visit was disclosed in a tweet by Laolu Akande, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President on Wednesday.

According to Mr Akande, the Acting President will during the visit inspect Indorama plant and complete its privatization process.

Osinbajo will also see few projects executed by the state government, the spokesman added.

Indoroma is the home to one of Africa’s largest fertilizer plant in Eleme, Rivers State. It consists of 2300 TPD Ammonia plant, 4000 TPF Urea plant, 83 km long Gas Pipeline, and an Export Port Terminal.

Indorama is said to have supplied about 250,000 metric tons of granular Urea fertilizer to farmers nationwide since June 2016 when it commenced production.

Since his inauguration on May 29, 2015, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has taken it upon himself to develop all parts of Rivers State, flagging-off a range of projects across the State.

Wike, who also confirmed Osinbajo’s visit, also announced that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onoghen, would lay the foundation stone for the construction of judges’ quarters in the state.

Wike listed the projects to be inaugurated by Osinbajo to include Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozuzu Road in Etche Local Government Area, Igbo Etche-Chokocho-Rumuokwurusi Interchange Road, Rukpokwu Market Junction to Aluu Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rumuokoro Market and Park in Obio/Akpor and Ogbunabali Internal Roads in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
