Oyo NSCDC Arrests Two Women, Six Men For Kidnapping In Oke-Ogun

The Agro Rangers Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oyo State Command, has arrested eight suspected kidnappers in the Oke-Ogin area of the state.

The suspects, six men and two women, were said to be the ones terrorising Ado Awaye, Araromi Lcda, Okaka and Otu communities Iseyin, in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area and Ilero in the Iwa Local Council Development Authority.

Many parts of Oke-Ogun have been under the siege of kidnappers and the suspects are beleived to be some of the hoodlums tormenting the people in the area.

The Commandant of the NSCDC in Oyo State, Iskilu Akinsanya, said this in Ibadan on Friday.

Narating how the suspects were nabbed, the commandant said one Alhaji Baani Abubakar otherwise called Chief Jowuro, made a distress call to the Agro Rangers in the Oke-Ogun axis and they responded.

He said the suspects were spotted at a hotel in Iseyin and they swooped on them, leading to the arrest of six males and two females.

Two Boxer motorcycles , phones and some amount of money were said to have been recovered from the suspects .

The suspects are believed to be Fulani by their names and features..

The commandant said “Interrogation revealed that some numbers were stored on his phone with different codes such as 52,42,33 and so on.

“Umaru later agreed to help the corps to get his friends. Names and identities of the suspects were giving as Umaru Lawal, (male) from Ado-Awaye; Umaru Saliu, 27, (male) from Ado-Awaye; Abase Musa, 30, (male) from Odo-Ogun Iseyin; Barika Idris, (male) from Ipapo Itesiwaju Local government; Abdulahi Kanti, 25, (male) from Odo-Ogun Iseyin; Boto Dengi, 30, (male) from Fasola Oyo; Fatimo Kiri, 8, (female) from Ilero, and Adiza Adamu, 20, (female) from Ilero, Iwa LCDA.”
